We are extremely pleased to bring this awesome event to
Madera. Legends Over Madera Air Show 2009
will be a thrilling weekend filled with exciting
entertainment and fun for all ages. Madera is rich in
military history and is the perfect, central location
for this great air show. Years ago Madera was known for the
air show called "Gathering of the Warbirds". In fact, the
last of these air shows in 1993-94 drew huge crowds each day. It
is definitely time for an air show to return to Madera,
and Legends Over Madera Air Show 2009 will be even bigger and better.
How can we do this? Because we have secured one of the
best performer line-ups of any air show in the country.
Each day will feature several top performers such as
the Red Bull Mig 17, Bill Cornick, John Collver, Chuck Hall with his P-51
Mustang "Six Shooter", Eddie Andreini, Bill
Reesman (Red Bull Mig), Spencer Suderman,
"the Beast" Jet car and more. Our feature act is the
exhilarating Patriots Jet Demonstration Team, the finest
civilian four-ship jet team in the world. This team only
performs in 6 or 7 cities worldwide per year and
Legends Over Madera Air Show 2009 is one of them! It is
interesting to note that two of the Patriots team members
were recent pilots for the United States Air Force
Thunderbirds flight demonstration team…true patriots and
professionals.
There will also be some of the
finest Warbirds in the world at this show. This
tremendous Warbird representation will include aircraft
such as the P-38 Lightning flying with either a F4U
Corsair (Baa Baa Blacksheep airplane) or a Japanese Zero,
B-25 Bomber, the P-40 Warhawk, and an F-86 jet fighter
to name a few. Several of these legendary Warbirds and
their pilots will be flying during the event! I can
assure you, few shows in the country are able to field
so many Warbirds, and have as many of them actually flying
during the event.
Country music star legend, an avid
pilot, and a huge aviation enthusiast, Aaron Tippin, will
join us as we salute our valley veterans. Aaron will
perform a concert Friday the 29th of May after the
conclusion of the Legends Over Madera Air Show 2009
Media & Performer Practice Day. This concert will be
included in our Friday ticket price.
We are also providing an
Ultra-light aircraft display
area, radio controlled model aircraft, as well as a possible Wine Tasting area through
support from these organizations. Of course, there will
be many other fun-filled activities for the family including children
playhouses, face painting and more.
